Republicans Turn Their Back on the Victims in Darfur
We all know of the ongoing tragedy in Darfur. On March 16, an amendment to add an additional 50 million dollars for Darfur peacekeeping came up on the House floor. It passed by the narrow vote of 213 to 208, but the very few Republicans voted for it even though the amount is insignificant in the overall budget. Only 25 Republicans voted for it, 201 against. 187 Democrats voted for it, 7 against. So much for Republicans caring about genocide or having any compassion.
